I have Comet #3201 for sale. It is a J Wolcott 1952 boat. It is a classic boat with a wood mast with 7-point rigging and a large bronze centerboard. It is a wood boat with a white hull and a light blue deck. I am hoping to sell it to someone who is a fan of the Comet class, rather than do a local Craigslist ad and sell it to a random sailor looking for a boat. It is in good shape, and has been stored in my garage. It has a trailer. In 2002, I bought some one year old racing sails, which have had little additional use. I also have the original sails. I mainly used it for a once a year camping and sailing trip up in the Cascades. It sails great, and points better than any boat I have sailed on. I haven't used it in many years, so it’s been high and dry in my spare garage in Portland, Oregon. I don’t have any pictures handy, since it was a pre-digital camera era boat for me. 2016 16’ Comet built by Matthews, North Sails, many improvements: adjustable skipper hiking strap, skeg faired, bottom smoothed and polished. Set-up per North Sails tuning guide, ready to race comes with 2016 road trailer and new sailor tailor cover. All registrations are current.

COMET #3295 needs a home where someone will use it or store it better than I can. It comes with 2 sail rigs. One is the original 23 ft mast with an original numbered sail. The other rig is a home-made spruce 16-foot sprit rig with a cut down sail. It's a lot easier to rig and putz around with.

It also comes with a trailer. Ready to tow away. Trailer lights work. Trailer wheels are new and I have the old ones that are still in decent shape.

The center board is all bronze. At this point the top needs scraped and repainted but other than that it's ready to sail.

We have an older Comet that we are about to sell. My older brother bought it years ago in Ithaca, New York and it has been in western MA since. It is a project boat and needs to be put back together. My brother had done some work on it (new centerboard trunk, new lower mast section, etc.) It has not been used in many years. It is sail number 2375. We would like it to go to a good home for someone looking for a project and would like to post it on your website. Please let me know how to do so. We would appreciate any advice you have.

1948 Comet #2306; double planked mahogany/glass over, needs restoration. Original rectangular mast and boom, plus extra "brand new" Pigeon Hollow Spar round mast ready for rigging. First one is a newer cedar ruder with carbon epoxy covering. Tube cap for tiller. Very light. $200.

The second is an older rudder which also includes a wood tiller and aluminum tiller extension. There are some superficial cracks in the filler added between the blade and cheeks but the rudder itself is solid as a rock. $75.

“Cricket” a Comet Class one-design sailboat for sale. Boat number 3422 built in the 1950’s-1960’s. Not sure of exact production date or builder. In its day must have been fast as one of the main sails has a Silver Comet class insignia and a Gold Chevron below. There is both the original steel centerboard and a light weight aluminum centerboard. The boat was completely re-done 8 years ago and only sailed approximately 10 times since. Original was replaced with tongue and groove cedar milled to the one design specs and all screws plugged. Wooden hull glassed over professionally (Pilots Point, CT) with light weight clear fiberglass to improve usability. Custom cove stripe ending in class insignia. All hardware upgraded and replaced with Harken or Ronstan. All lines and halyards replaced and upgraded to low stretch high tech. Custom fit Sailors Taylor cover embroidered with sail number and class insignia for mast up storage or mast down trailering. CT Registered trailer with custom fit bunks for the hull and tie down bars which also hole the spars. Own the pretties boat in your Comet fleet or the body of water you sail. I’m trying to repair a couple of broken masts to get people back on the water and need some old mast parts to get things started.

Hi I'm selling my comet. It's about a 1936, #178. It's about 85% complete. All the ribs are replaced, the deck is done but needs trim. The keel is replaced but needs a little finishing.
