CCYRA Proxy Results

To the Comet membership:

The recent proxy to approve the Mylar sails received the necessary 2/3 votes to pass.

There were 35 yes and 14 no votes that were sent to Reed Rogers.

However, numerous people expressed their concern in the voting format, that someone not voting would be considered a yes vote.

The reason for this format is because for more then a decade the response to any ballot or proxy was less then 5% of the membership. Such a small response would not be enough votes to pass anything, even the election of officers.

The executive committee has decided to disallow the voting procedure and not approve the Mylar sails.

We will continue testing the Mylar sails this coming Summer to give everyone better knowledge of their pros and cons.

Then another proxy will be sent out and voted on at a later date.
